About the pattern
The Soepeler is a loooooooong scarf, knitted from end to end with a triangular section in the middle to multiply the ways in which it can be worn. Like many of my patterns, it was designed specifically to accessorise your Layercakes.
Knitting a linen yarn in garter stitch into a loose fabric creates a lot of space for air to be trapped, which makes this scarf remarkably warm when worn wrapped multiple times around your neck.
Three big tassels (one at each end and one in the middle, at the tip of the triangle) add further swing and interest.
About the yarn
The same weight as our Soliloquy Sock Lace, Layercake linen runs 600 m per 100 grams and is perfect for knitting a garment or accessory to go with your Layercake Smock, Tabard, Apron, etc.
You will achieve a lovely loose fabric (ideal for shawls and accessories) using a 3.25mm needle.
If you are looking for a more closed look to your stitches, drop down to a 2.75mm needle (which gives you a gauge of approx. 23 sts x 42 rows = 10 x 10cm/4 x 4in).
The Twisted Fades are a 3-ply yarn, with fades achieved by combining different solid colours in the final twist (known as a barer-pole effect by spinners).
The set contains 7 colour coordinated hanks of 25gms (150m) each, totalling 175gms of yarn. It would make a STUNNING Faerly XL Shawl! (pattern listed ).
